Perry Vieth, President Perry Vieth, President, devotes his entire time towards managing the properties of Ceres Farms including financial, legal, accounting, hedging and investor relations. Formerly he served for ten years as CIO of Fixed Income & Currency at PanAgora Asset Management in Boston, where he was responsible for research, investment strategy and oversight of assets exceeding $7 billion. At PanAgora, Perry led several successful long-short hedge fund strategies and in 2007 was Pensions & Investments top-performing fixed income manager with a return of 16.1%. Mr. Vieth also served as a portfolio manager at Fleet Investment advisors, Fuji Securities and Chicago Research & Trading Group where he began his trading career at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange in 1986. From 1982 to 1986, Mr. Vieth practiced law in Chicago specializing in securities and corporate law. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame Law School with a J.D. and obtained a B.S. in accounting from Marquette University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and member of the Boston Securities Analyst Society. Perry serves on the University of Notre Dame Law School’s Advisory Council and several charitable organizations’ Board of Directors.
Brandon Zick Brandon Zick, Director of Acquisitions & Portfolio Management, focuses on managing all assets of the farm portfolio, due diligence of property acquisitions and tenant relations of Ceres Farms. Additionally, Mr. Zick oversees risk management of portfolio farm properties and performs industry research. Most recently, Brandon served as a Vice President of Strategic Acquisitions within Morgan Stanley Investment Management. In this role, Brandon performed due diligence, valuation analysis, deal negotiation and execution of strategic business transactions on behalf of Morgan Stanley. Previously, he worked as a senior associate of investor relations at Morgan Stanley, and began his career as a finance associate at Lehman Brothers. Brandon is a 2001 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a B.B.A. in finance and a Japanese concentration and is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst. Brandon grew up on a family dairy and crop farm in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Steve Cardinal Steve Cardinal, Director of Appraisals and Finance, manages the Fund's farm portfolio, performs due diligence on property acquisitions and develops tenant relations. He also oversees the appraisal of all Ceres property by external appraisers and Ceres' funding activity. Steve has worked directly with farm families and Ag companies for over 30 years to provide financing for crop inputs, farm machinery, buildings and farmland acquisition. Most recently, he was Vice President of Commercial Loans for First Merchants Bank, serving the agricultural communities of Indiana. Prior to FMB, Steve worked with Horizon Bank and Farm Credit Services in a similar role providing Ag financing in Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan. Steve graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in Agriculture in 1978 and grew up on a farm in Southern Indiana.
Hunt Stookey Hunt Stookey, Director of Research & Investment Strategy, brings broad experience in agribusiness and private equity. Prior to joining Ceres, Hunt was Director of Agriculture at AEW Capital Management, a $45 billion manager of commercial real estate investments. Previously Mr. Stookey was Managing Director at agribusiness-focused strategy consulting boutique Highquest Partners where he served investor and corporate clients globally across the agribusiness value chain. Prior to Highquest, he had a career in strategy consulting with Booz & Co and Monitor Company, and in Private Equity with CIGNA. Hunt has an MBA from the Yale School of Management and a BS in Engineering from Trinity College.

Investment Team

Heidi Adamovsky Heidi Adamovsky, Office Manager, is responsible for overseeing all purchase and sale transactions and maintaining all documents related thereto. She will coordinate insurance for the fund and assist in tenant and FSA office relationships. Heidi has coordinated all facets of real estate transactions over the past 17 years at Metropolitan Title Company in South Bend, IN. Most recently, as Commercial Escrow Officer she directed all major closings and interacted with attorneys, lenders and developers. Heidi graduated Cum Laude from Indiana University in 1992 with a B.A. in History and Political Science.
Nate Kaehler Nathan Kaehler, Portfolio Manager, focuses on due diligence of property acquisitions, modeling infrastructure improvement projects, property management and tenant relations of Ceres Farms. Prior to Ceres Partners, Nathan worked as a Summer Associate at Wood Creek Capital Management in the agriculture group. Previously, Nathan worked as a Financial Analyst at Amcom Software, a private equity backed med-tech company, where he created valuation models and assisted in the due diligence of several strategic acquisitions that helped drive company growth before it was acquired by a strategic buyer. He began his career as an Audit Associate at KPMG. Nathan is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelors degree in Finance and Accounting from Iowa State University and a Masters of Business Administration degree from UCLA Anderson School of Management. He grew up on a family beef cattle and crop farm in Southeastern Minnesota.
Paul Kinsella Paul Kinsella, Portfolio Manager, manages the Fund's farm portfolio, performs due diligence on property acquisitions and develops tenant relations. His efforts focus on Ceres Partners continued westward expansion in the corn-belt states of Illinois and Iowa. Paul has worked in the investment management field for the previous 12 years. His roles have included Portfolio Management and trading with BAM, a Chicago based hedge fund and Oberweis Asset Management, a small-cap long only fund in Lisle, IL. Paul graduated from University of Notre Dame with a B.A. in Economics in 1994 and grew up on a corn and soybean farm in Central Illinois.
Jim Passios Jim Passios, Property Manager, oversees the management of all property and buildings including the planning, design of new structures, leasing and sale of split properties and removal of existing structures in an effort to create tillable land. He also ensures long-range capital improvement by performing a thorough analysis of current and future homesteads to determine the best strategic disposition in collaboration with the portfolio management team. Mr. Passios uses his 20-plus years of land development and construction experience to provide ongoing insight and guidance to Ceres Partners. He brings diverse experience from prior roles managing commercial buildings, overseeing golf course operations, and constructing high-end homes. During his tenure, he has been recognized for building the first Platinum LEED home in Cambridge, Massachusetts as designated by the U.S. Green Building Council, a leader in green building standards. His quality work and craftsmanship have been featured in several print media publications including Prefabulous & Sustainable, South Shore Living, and The Boston Globe. Jim holds a BS Management degree in Business Administration from Salem State University.

Relationship Services

Barbara Keady Barbara Connolly Keady, Director of New Business Development, is responsible for new business development and client relations. Most recently, Ms. Keady was a research analyst at Southport Management, a convertible bond hedge fund based in Ct. Prior to that, she worked as an associate in the Private Wealth Management group at Morgan Stanley in NY, selling the firm’s asset management services to High Net Worth individuals, endowments and foundations. Ms Keady started her career at Bankers Trust Company in their fixed income sales department, covering pensions, corporations and money funds in the Mid Atlantic region. Ms. Keady received a B.S. from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia and an MBA in Finance from Columbia University. Ms. Keady serves on the Columbia Business School Admissions peer review board.
Morgan Vieth Morgan Vieth, Senior Relationship Manager, is responsible for processing all new investor subscription documents and maintaining all existing investor records and correspondence records. She will act as the primary contact person for all investors who have invested in Ceres directly without a marketing representative and maintain firm overview materials including monthly portfolio and investor reports. Before joining Ceres Partners, Morgan worked as an Associate Financial Analyst at Fidelity Investments in Boston. At Fidelity she worked within the board finance team charting competitive and financial results for the Board of Trustees. Morgan graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2011 with a BBA in Management Consulting and History.
